Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our friendly driver will greet you and transfer you to Moshi or Arusha, just 45 minutes away. Check in at the hotel and meet your experienced mountain guide for a comprehensive briefing on your upcoming trek.
DAY 2: NORTHERN CIRCUIT DAY 1: LEMOSHO TRAILHEAD (2000 M) - BIG TREE CAMP (2800 M)
Your journey commences as our team picks you up from your hotel and escorts you to the Lemosho trailhead via Londorossi Gate. Trekking through lush rainforests teeming with wildlife, including buffaloes and monkeys, you’ll ascend to Big Tree Camp, where you’ll spend the night amidst the tranquility of nature.
DAY 3: NORTHERN CIRCUIT DAY 2: BIG TREE CAMP (2800 M) - SHIRA 1 CAMP (3500 M)
Leaving the forest behind, you’ll enter a captivating terrain of meadow heather and volcanic rock. Ascending and descending through scenic hills below the Shira Plateau, you’ll arrive at Shira 1 Camp, treated to awe-inspiring views of the majestic Kibo summit.
DAY 4: NORTHERN CIRCUIT DAY 3: SHIRA 1 CAMP (3500 M) - LAVA TOWER (4550 M)
Today’s journey takes you through heather to the alpine desert, passing the impressive Shira Plateau and lava tower. As you navigate the challenging terrain, relish the breathtaking vistas over the Shira Plateau from Moir Hut Camp.
DAY 5: NORTHERN CIRCUIT DAY 4: LAVA TOWER (4550 M) - BUFFALO CAMP (4020 M)
Continuing along the Northern Circuit, traverse steep ridges and diverse landscapes, arriving at Buffalo Camp after an exhilarating 8–9-hour hike through heathland and alpine desert.
DAY 6: NORTHERN CIRCUIT DAY 5: BUFFALO/POFU CAMP (4020 M) - THIRD CAVE CAMP (3870 M)
Today’s trek showcases varied landscapes, from heathland to alpine environments, as you journey eastwards along the northern circuit route. Enjoy moments of tranquility amidst the wilderness and stunning mountain vistas.
DAY 7: NORTHERN CIRCUIT DAY 6: THIRD CAVE CAMP (3870 M) - SCHOOL HUTS (4750 M)
Embark on a 4-5hour ascent to the “Saddle,” a lunar landscape between Mawenzi and Kibo Peaks, before reaching School Hut camp. Take the afternoon to rest and prepare for the final ascent to the summit.
DAY 8: NORTHERN CIRCUIT DAY 7: SCHOOL HUTS (4750 M) - UHURU PEAK (5895 M) - MILLENIUM CAMP (3720 M)
In the early hours, commence the summit push, conquering Gilman’s Point before reaching Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. Descend to Millenium Camp via Kibo Huts, where you’ll celebrate your achievement amidst stunning mountain panoramas.
DAY 9: NORTHERN CIRCUIT DAY 8: MILLENIUM CAMP (3720 M) TO MWEKA GATE (1830 M) - TO THE HOTEL
Bid farewell to the mountain as you descend to Mweka Gate, where you’ll reunite with your team for a congratulatory gathering. Return to your hotel for a well-deserved rest and reflection on your incredible journey
Days 10: Flight Home from Kilimanjaro (JRO) After the Climb
As your journey comes to an end, cherish your last moments in Tanzania before our driver picks you up and escorts you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home.
