Day 1: Arrival
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, our friendly driver will greet you and transfer you to Moshi or Arusha, just 45 minutes away. Check in at the hotel and meet your experienced mountain guide for a comprehensive briefing on your upcoming trek.
DAY 2: Umbwe Route - Day 1: Umbwe Gate (1400 m) - Umbwe Cave Camp (3000 m)
Embark on a thrilling adventure up Mount Kilimanjaro via the challenging Umbwe Route. Starting at Umbwe Gate (1400 m), you’ll trek through dense rainforests, ascending to Umbwe Cave Camp (3000 m). This first day will test your endurance and determination as you navigate steep trails amidst breathtaking natural beauty. DAY 3: Umbwe Route - Day 2: Umbwe Cave Camp (3000 m) - Barranco Camp (3960 m)
On day 2 of the Umbwe Route, you’ll depart from the serene Umbwe Cave Camp at 3000m. As you ascend, marvel at the changing landscapes and breathtaking views. Reach the picturesque Barranco Camp at 3960m, surrounded by towering peaks. Experience the thrill of this challenging trek while immersing yourself in the rugged beauty of the mountains.
DAY 4: Umbwe Route - Day 3: Barranco Camp (3960 m) to Karanga Camp (3950 m) via Barranco Wall (4200 m)
Journey from Barranco Camp (3960 m) to Karanga Camp (3950 m) via the spectacular Barranco Wall (4200 m) on day 3 of your Umbwe Route trek. This challenging but rewarding section offers breathtaking views and requires some scrambling. Conquer the wall and be rewarded with a sense of accomplishment and the opportunity to soak in the raw beauty of the landscape.
DAY 5: Umbwe Route - Day 4: Karanga Camp (3950 m) - Barafu Camp (4640 m)
Trek from Karanga Camp (3950 m) to Barafu Camp (4640 m) on day 4 of the Umbwe Route. Enjoy breathtaking views as you climb higher, passing through diverse landscapes. DAY 6: Umbwe Route - Day 5: Barafu Camp (4640 m) - Uhuru Peak (5895 m) - Millennium Camp (3820 m)
Conquer the mighty Uhuru Peak at an impressive altitude of 5895m on day 5 of the Umbwe Route. Starting from Barafu Camp at 4640m, embark on a challenging hike to the summit, admiring breathtaking views along the way. After this incredible achievement, descend to Millennium Camp at 3820m to rest and celebrate your successful climb.
DAY 7: Umbwe Route - Day 6: Millennium Camp (3820 m) - Mweka Gate (1650 m) - Hotel
Descend from Millennium Camp (3820 m) to Mweka Gate (1650 m) on the final day of the Umbwe Route. Enjoy stunning views of the lush rainforest and diverse flora and fauna during this downhill trek. Return to your hotel with your driver, where you can unwind with a hot shower and a delicious dinner after your adventure.
Days 8: Flight Home from Kilimanjaro (JRO) After the Climb
As your journey comes to an end, cherish your last moments in Tanzania before our driver picks you up and escorts you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your flight home.
